What is Kasasa® Checking? Rewards checking at FCB and how to use it.
Ever since FirstCapital Bank of Texas introduced Kasasa Rewards Checking back in May, there's one question we've heard time and time again.
What does Kasasa mean?
At FCB, Kasasa means earning the rewards – or cash back – that you actually want; “rewards” that pay you to bank with us – not the other way around.
How does Kasasa work?
Kasasa is a leading provider of rewards checking accounts for local banks and credit unions across the country. Available at nearly 3,600 bank and credit union branches nationwide, people like you use Kasasa to get more from their checking. Now, you can do the same at FCB.
What is a Kasasa Cash Checking account?
With Kasasa Cash Checking, you earn interest on your checking account balance.* Kasasa Cash Checking pays you a 2.00% annual percentage yield (APY) on balances up to $10,000, and 0.10% APY on any additional balance.
How does Kasasa Cash Back work?
A Kasasa Cash Back Checking account allows you to earn cash back on the purchases that you make with your debit card. When you use your Kasasa Cash Back debit card—online or in person—you’ll earn 4.00% cash back on anything you buy, up to $8 each month.
Kasasa Cash vs. Cash Back.
Kasasa Cash Checking and Kasasa Cash Back Checking have several important elements in common:
- Open with just $25
- Link to a free Kasasa Saver account so your savings grow automatically (more on that below)
- Refunds on ATM withdrawal fees nationwide when you meet your account requirements (things you probably do anyway, like using your debit card and online banking)
The key difference is whether you want to earn interest on your checking balance or cash back on your purchases: With Kasasa, the choice is yours.
What is Kasasa Saver?
Kasasa Saver is a savings account you can link to your Kasasa Cash Checking or Cash Back Checking to easily grow your savings. The interest—or cash back—you earn is automatically transferred into your Kasasa Saver account, where you can earn 1.00% APY on balances up to $25,000 and 0.25% APY on any additional balance.
What does Kasasa mean?
Still wondering what Kasasa means? Here’s the thing: The people who founded Kasasa, right here in Texas—less than 100 miles from our Marble Falls and Horseshoe Bay branches—made it up. Why? So they could create their own meaning for it.
