Hometown Highlight: Fiesta Jam
Are you looking for a weekend get-a-way this fall? Look no further than Marble Falls and its annual Fiesta Jam on the lake! As a nonprofit organization, Fiesta Jam is a three-day music and wine festival that helps raise funds for the Marble Falls Independent School District (MISD) and Harmony School of Creative Arts music programs. This year’s event will be held Oct. 20 – 22.
Located right on Lake Marble Falls, the festival showcases musicians and wineries in the beautiful Texas Hill Country region of Marble Falls and Burnet County.
This year’s festival will open on Friday, Oct. 20 with a wine tasting and cocktails at the Escondido Golf and Lake Club with dinner, dessert tastings and a performance from Texas songwriter Walt Wilkins. Saturday will feature wine and craft beer tastings highlighting regional wineries and local craft breweries from 1 – 9 p.m. at the Lakeside Park Pavillion, plus chocolate tastings by local chocolatiers.
Festival cofounder john Arthur martinez says the purpose of the festival is to not only shine a spotlight on the amazing talent in the region, but to also nurture developing musical acts as well. One way this is accomplished is through the event’s proceeds supporting the MISD (which includes more than 4,000 students) and the Harmony School of Creative Arts located in Marble Falls, which is a nonprofit community arts school that includes dance, music, theatre and art classes.
Early Bird tickets for musical performances are available for $25 or $250 for two VIP packages including Friday night’s Patron of the Arts reception and additional weekend events.
