FirstCapital Bank of Texas Receives TBA Cornerstone Award

FirstCapital Bank of Texas (FCB) has been selected as one of four Cornerstone Award winners by the Texas Bankers Foundation. The bank was recently honored at the Texas Bankers Association’s 136th Annual Convention in Austin during a special awards luncheon on Aug. 26.

“As a community bank, FirstCapital Bank of Texas is dedicated in supporting our communities and those who keep our communities healthy and safe during a time of crisis,” said FCB VP, Marketing Manager, Hazel Morrison. “Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, and the uncertainty that pursued in 2020 we identified new ways of contributing to our communities, while also offering support during a difficult time.”

The Cornerstone Award recognizes and rewards Texas banks that made a commitment to be the cornerstones of their communities.

The financial institution was recognized for its efforts and work in helping its communities during the COVID-19 pandemic through SBA’s Paycheck Protection Program, events to benefit healthcare workers and first responders, and safe community events to benefit local children.

“It is our great pleasure to recognize this year’s Cornerstone Award recipients. This award celebrates the banks and bankers who have made a commitment to be cornerstones in their communities,” said Chris Furlow, president & CEO of the Texas Bankers Association. “Those recognized this year have had a significant impact on their communities and we are honored to congratulate them on their efforts.”

For 32 years, the Texas Bankers Association and Foundation have honored those who have served in the banking industry for 50 years or more. The Foundation has since expanded its awards portfolio to recognize banks and TBA members who give back to the community, promote financial literacy and showcase excellence in their fields.
